Next week marks a milestone for OTTO Motors’ CTO Ryan Gariepy as he’ll be attending his tenth ROS developer conference. Organized by Open Robotics, Ryan has played a key role in initiating and helping to grow this event over the years. ROSCon is now the premier annual event for ROS developers. Organizers have opted to call in-person events ROSCon and virtual events ROS World, but the content, camaraderie and global impact are the same.

ROS World 2021 runs October 19 through 21. Pre-conference workshops comprise the 19th with the full conference underway Wednesday, Oct. 20. ROS World kicks off at approximately 9:00 am U.S. Central Standard Time and runs all day.

That inaugural conference even preceded the formation of OTTO Motors.

 For this year’s ROS World, Ryan will be moderating a panel on Simulation Tools for ROS that features Louise Poubel from Open Robotics, Liila Torabi from NVIDIA, and Steve Hansen of Unity Technologies. Ryan will then be handling the closing remarks.
